I made this slideshow with a demo version of FotoMagico and need to see how it works embedded in a blog.

Web Browsers
Not all web browsers are the same, I’m finding out.
I started out using Safari with my MacBook Pro, and I liked it just fine. Then I tried to use some web pages (like Constant Contact for making email newsletters) and found out that the site wouldn’t work in Safari. So I downloaded Firefox and began using it as my primary browser.
Firefox is great. I especially like the way it opens new pages in a new tab, rather than a whole new browser window.
Now I’m finding out that the web sites I’m creating on my Mac can look very different in Internet Explorer (which is what most people use). The rounded corners become square, the text can run into itself, and most dismaying, while I see the site as very proportionate, it can look so gargantuan and out of balance in an IE browser.
Obviously, websites have to be presentable in all the major browsers, especially Internet Explorer, since that is the one most widely used.
I don’t like it that IE (and Microsoft) has such a hold on the industry. Just today I was helping a computer client who had upgraded to IE8 and she couldn’t find the “add to Favorites” button. It was there, but had been moved down a level so that adding a website to the Favorite list now required 2 clicks, rather than just one. I would love to be a consultant to Microsoft for what the average user wants and needs. For years I have lamented just printing an addressed envelope using Microsoft software is such a complex task. In the address book (Outlook) there should be an option for each contact for printing an envelope or label. Instead you have to go through several WORD, of all things!
I guess now that I’m primarily a MAC user, I’ll become a regular Windows basher :-).

Well, I'm still playing around with the "look" of this site.
I want to use my own photos up in that banner, and make them FLASH!!

Welcome to the shoofoo Blog!
Welcome to the shoofoo Blog!
This is where I will keep computer notes. For years I have been writing out detailed instructions for people who want to remember how to do things on their computers. Like loading photos from their cameras, or keeping track of stock prices. Anything and everything that I run into in my daily rounds helping people with their computers, I will document here.
I may even opine on the latest techie gadgets.
Instructions will be categorized so that they are easy to find and I won't have to write things again and again!
At least that is the plan ...
